Greensboro Real Estate
Greensboro has a long and illustrious history dating back to the early 1700s. The area was first inhabited by the Saura and Keyauwee Indians and then by the Germans, Quakers of Welsh and English descent and Scotch-Irish. The city received its name from Major General Nathaniel Greene, commander of the American forces at the Battle of Guilford Court House in 1781. In 1808, Greensboro was incorporated as a city and became the seat for Guilford County.
Today, Greensboro is the third most populous city in North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 223,891. In 2004, it was estimated that the population was 231,543.

The racial makeup of the city was White (55.49%), Black or African American (37.40%), Hispanic or Latino of any race (4.35%), Asian (2.84%), Native American (0.44%), Pacific Islander (.04%), from other races (2.08%), and from two or more races (1.71%).
