Autumn in a Park

The city has more than 3500 lush, green acres and 170 parks for people of all ages. One great park to visit is the Tannenbaum Historic Park which preserves the place where the Battle of Guilford Courthouse began. This 7.5-acre park is dedicated to sharing the story of the local Hoskins family and colonial life before, during and after this pivotal battle in the American Revolution.

Baseball, indoor football, and soccer are all well represented by teams in Greensboro. The Carolina Dynamo Soccer Club is a two-time National Champion team. The Greensboro Grasshoppers Baseball is a Class "A" farm club for the Florida Marlins. The Greensboro Revolution Indoor Football League offers real football played on an indoor turf the size of a hockey rink.

Race fans can start their engines at the Piedmont Raceway. At the race track, shows featuring funny cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycle and souped-up dragster competitions regularly excite visitors.

If you follow professional golfing, you will want to attend the annual Chrysler Classic of Greensboro. At this event, the PGA Tour's best players and brightest stars compete in one of the country's oldest and most prestigious events.

If something a little more sedate is to your fancy, you can enjoy shopping at the Four Seasons Town Center. Anchored by Belk, Dillard's and JC Penney, the Four Seasons Town Centre offers nearly 200 fine stores and eateries.
